Nala’s Reception and Reconciliation
विमुच्य मां गत: पापस्ततो5हमिह चागत: । त्वदर्थ विपुलश्रोणि न हि मेडन्यत् प्रयोजनम्,'सुन्दरी! पापी कलियुग मुझे छोड़कर चला गया, इसीसे मैं तुम्हारी प्राप्तिका उद्देश्य लेकर यहाँ आया हूँ। इसके सिवा, मेरे आगमनका दूसरा कोई प्रयोजन नहीं है
vimucya māṁ gataḥ pāpastato ’ham iha cāgataḥ | tvadarthaṁ vipulaśroṇi na hi me ’d anyat prayojanam ||
布里哈达湿婆说道:“那罪恶之徒放开了我便离去;因此我来到此处。啊,丰臀的美人,我只为你而来——除此之外别无所图。”
बृहदश्चव उवाच
The verse foregrounds motive (prayojana) as ethically significant: the speaker openly states that his action is driven by a single intention—coming ‘for your sake’—inviting the listener to judge conduct by declared purpose and the moral quality of desire behind it.
In dialogue, Bṛhadaśva explains his arrival: a ‘sinful one’ has left after releasing him, and he has come here with the sole aim of reaching or obtaining the addressed woman (vipulaśroṇi), asserting that he has no other reason to be present.
