प्रच्छन्ना हि महात्मानश्वरन्ति पृथिवीमिमाम्‌ । दैवेन विधिना युक्ता: शास्त्रोक्तैश्न निरूपणै:,“बहुत-से महात्मा प्रच्छन्न रूप धारण करके देवोचित विधि तथा शास्त्रोक्त नियमोंसे युक्त होकर इस पृथ्वीपर विचरते रहते हैं

pracchannā hi mahātmānaś caranti pṛthivīm imām | daivena vidhinā yuktāḥ śāstroktaiś ca nirūpaṇaiḥ ||

许多大德之士,常以隐蔽之形游行于此大地——遵循天命之法度,又以《沙斯特拉》(śāstra)所载的戒律规矩自持。此言寓意:真德或现于卑微、或藏于不显;故待人当怀敬畏,行事须守伦理之谨慎,因为正直之人或近在咫尺而未必为人所识。
