भवत: प्रियमित्येवं महद्‌ व्यसनमीदृशम्‌ । धर्मकामे प्रतीतस्य प्रतिपन्ना: सम भारत,भारत! आप धर्मकी इच्छा रखनेवाले हैं; इस रूपमें आपकी प्रसिद्धि है। अतः आपकी प्रिय अभिलाषा सिद्ध हो, इसीलिये हमलोग ऐसे महान्‌ संकटमें पड़ गये हैं

bhavataḥ priyam ity evaṁ mahad vyasanam īdṛśam | dharmakāme pratītasya pratipannāḥ sma bhārata ||

毗湿摩波耶那说道:“只因我们一心求取你所欢喜之事,才坠入这般巨大的灾厄。你素以向法(dharma)而行闻名;因此,为使你珍爱的愿望得以成就,我们才来到这沉重的困厄之中,噢,婆罗多。”
