The verse highlights the ethical weight of sacred power: curiosity about a mantra’s efficacy can lead to irreversible consequences. It implicitly urges restraint, discernment, and responsibility when engaging with spiritual forces.
Kuntī, intrigued by the potency of her mantra, decides to test it. She performs an invocation and summons the deity Sūrya, initiating the episode that will profoundly affect her personal life and later the epic’s lineage.
