संदेष्टव्यां तु मन्ये त्वां द्विजातिं कोपन प्रति । पृथे बालेति कृत्वा वै सुता चासि ममेति च,“तथापि पृथे! तुम अभी बालिका और मेरी पुत्री हो, इसलिये इन क्रोधी ब्राह्मणके प्रति बर्ताव करनेके विषयमें तुम्हें कुछ उपदेश देनेकी आवश्यकताका अनुभव मैं करता हूँ
sandeṣṭavyāṃ tu manye tvāṃ dvijātiṃ kopanaṃ prati | pṛthe bāleti kṛtvā vai sutā cāsi mameti ca ||
毗舍摩耶那说道:“我以为你必须受教,知晓如何应对这位易怒的婆罗门(再生族)。因为,噢,普丽塔,你仍是少女,而且你还是我的女儿。”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when confronted by an angry Brahmin, one should act with restraint and proper decorum; therefore elders feel obliged to counsel the young on ethically appropriate conduct.
Vaiśampāyana addresses Pṛthā (Kuntī), noting her youth and her relationship as his ‘daughter,’ and introduces the need to instruct her on how to behave toward an irascible twice-born (Brahmin).
