अयं वत्से महाभागो ब्राह्मणो वस्तुमिच्छति । मम गेहे मया चास्य तथेत्येवं प्रतिश्रुतम्,“वत्से! ये महाभाग ब्राह्मण मेरे घरमें निवास करना चाहते हैं। मैंने “तथास्तुट कहकर इन्हें अपने यहाँ ठहरानेकी प्रतिज्ञा कर ली है
ayaṃ vatse mahābhāgo brāhmaṇo vastum icchati | mama gehe mayā cāsya tathety evaṃ pratiśrutam ||
毗舍摩波耶那说道:“孩子啊,这位有福的婆罗门愿意住在此处。在我家中,我已对他许诺,说‘就如此吧’,因此我已立誓接纳他居住。”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma through hospitality and truthfulness: once a promise is given—especially to a guest seeking shelter—it becomes an ethical obligation to honor it.
Vaiśaṃpāyana reports that a noble Brahmin wants to stay in the speaker’s home, and the speaker has already consented and formally promised to host him.
