Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the dharmic ideal that counsel within a family—especially from elders—should be offered in privacy and with affection, so that guidance is received without humiliation and with mutual respect.

Mārkaṇḍeya narrates that the princess (Sāvitrī in this episode) is sitting apart in private, and her parents-in-law approach and speak to her lovingly, introducing the next part of their conversation.
