मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights the Mahābhārata’s ethic of reverence for tīrthas and pure natural spaces: sacred waters and serene landscapes are presented as supports for inner purification, restraint, and dharmic reflection.
Mārkaṇḍeya points out the Pampā lake and describes its auspicious waters and birdlife, situating it near the Ṛṣyamūka mountain—an act of guiding the listener through a sacred landscape.
