balir adavaradau prasannātmā viprāyāmitatejase | tato divyādbhutatamaṁ rūpaṁ vikramato hareḥ ||
毗摩塞那说道:婆利心境澄明、甘愿施与,将那光辉无量的婆罗门所求之赐尽数奉上。随后,当诃利迈步以丈量大地之时,主神显现出至为奇绝的神圣形相。
भीमसेन उवाच
The verse highlights dāna and satya as central to dharma: Bali’s willing gift, even when it leads to his own loss, becomes the setting for Hari’s revelation. Ethical integrity is portrayed as more valuable than power or possession.
Bali grants the brāhmaṇa’s request; immediately afterward, Hari (as Vāmana/Trivikrama) begins measuring the earth with cosmic strides, revealing an astonishing divine form during the act of taking those steps.
