The verse evokes reverence for the cosmic order: when the divine and the wise assemble, the world itself seems to respond with solemn, overwhelming sound. Ethically, it frames sacred gatherings as moments that call for humility, attentiveness, and respect toward higher principles.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes a scene where all the gods and divine seers have arrived and are seated. A great, all-pervading din arises—thunderclouds and celestial instruments sounding together—likened to the deep roar of a storm-tossed ocean.
