Skanda-janma: Śivā/Svāhā, Agni, and the Manifestation of Guha
Mahābhārata 3.214
गुणागुणमनासड्रमेककार्यमनन्तरम् । एतत् तद् ब्रह्मणो वृत्तमाहुरेकपदं सुखम्,जो गुणमें रहता हुआ भी गुणोंसे रहित है, जो सर्वथा संगसे रहित है तथा जो एकमात्र अन्तरात्माके द्वारा ही साध्य है, जिसकी उपलब्धिमें अविद्याके सिवा और कोई व्यवधान नहीं है, वही ब्रह्मका अद्वितीय नित्य सिद्ध पद है और वही (निरतिशय) सुख है
guṇāguṇam anāsaṅgam ekakāryam anantaram | etat tad brahmaṇo vṛttam āhur ekapadaṁ sukham ||
猎人说道:“那处于诸德之中而自身超越诸德者;那全然无著者;那唯由唯一的内在自我而证知者;其成就除无明之外别无障碍者——人们宣说,这正是梵(Brahman)之境:唯一、无上、恒常安立的归处;唯此才是真乐。”
व्याध उवाच
Liberation is the realization of Brahman, which is untouched by the guṇas and free from attachment; the only real barrier to this immediate truth is ignorance, so ethical living culminates in inner knowledge and non-clinging.
In the Vyādha’s instruction (often called the Vyādha-gītā) within Vana Parva, the hunter explains to his listener the nature of the highest reality: Brahman as the one, ever-established state of bliss, attainable through the inner Self and obscured only by avidyā (ignorance).
