शोकस्थानसहस्राणि भयस्थानशतानि च । दिवसे दिवसे मूढमाविशन्ति न पण्डितम्,'शोकके सहस्रों और भयके सैकड़ों स्थान हैं। वे मूढ़ मनुष्यपर प्रतिदिन अपना प्रभाव डालते हैं; परंतु ज्ञानी पुरुषपर वे प्रभाव नहीं डाल सकते
śokasthānasahasrāṇi bhayasthānaśatāni ca | divase divase mūḍham āviśanti na paṇḍitam ||
悲伤之因有千般,恐惧之缘有百端。日复一日,它们攫住愚迷之人;却不能压倒明智之士。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Life presents countless triggers for grief and fear, but the decisive factor is one’s discernment: the deluded mind is repeatedly overwhelmed, while the wise remain inwardly steady and are not ruled by such emotions.
Vaiśampāyana continues a reflective, didactic statement within the Vana Parva context, offering a general moral observation about human vulnerability to sorrow and fear and the resilience of the wise.
