Pradyumna–Śālva Missile-Exchange at Saubha (Āraṇyaka Parva, Adhyāya 18)
sautir uvāca: jānārdane na me moho nāpi māṁ bhayam āviśat | atibhāraṁ tu te manye śālvaṁ keśavanandana |
The verse contrasts inner steadiness with external pressure: one may remain free from delusion (moha) and fear (bhaya), yet still recognize when an adversary or situation has become an undue burden requiring prudent response.
The speaker (introduced as Sauti) addresses a figure called “son of Janārdana/Keśava,” stating he is neither confused nor afraid, but observes that the king Śālva is proving a heavy challenge for the addressee.
