so’ham enaṁ tava prītyā tapaḥ-siddham api dhruvam | viyuñajmi dehād devendra muhūrtaṁ pratipālaya, devendra ||

Spiritual attainment through tapas does not automatically exempt one from consequences; ethical protection and cosmic order may require decisive action even against a powerful, austerity-accomplished opponent.
The speaker reassures Indra that, despite the opponent’s ascetic accomplishments, he will certainly kill him (literally ‘separate him from the body’) and asks Indra to wait briefly.
