Prabhāsa-tīrthe Vṛṣṇi–Pāṇḍava-saṅgamaḥ; Halī Rāmasya dharma-vimarśaḥ
Meeting at Prabhāsa and Balarāma’s Reflection on Dharma
te hi sarve mahātmānaḥ sarvaśāstraviśāradāḥ | vṛṣṇayaḥ pāṇḍavāś caiva suhṛdaś ca parasparam ||
The verse highlights an ethical ideal: even powerful groups (Vṛṣṇis and Pāṇḍavas) should be grounded in śāstra-informed wisdom and mutual goodwill. Janamejaya’s inquiry implies that such virtuous, learned people’s conduct and dialogue at a tīrtha are especially worthy of study.
Janamejaya frames a question about events at Prabhāsa-tīrtha: what the Pāṇḍavas and Vṛṣṇis did there and what they discussed. He emphasizes their nobility, learning, and friendship to underscore the importance of the forthcoming account.
