Akṛtavraṇa’s Account Begins: Gādhi–Satyavatī–Ṛcīka and the Bhārgava Lineage Prelude
प्राशितव्यं प्रयत्नेन चेत्युक्त्वादर्शनं गत: । आलिड्ने चरौ चैव चक्रतुस्ते विपर्ययम्,तुम दोनों प्रयत्नपूर्वक अपने-अपने चरुका भक्षण करना; ऐसा कहकर भृगुजी अन्तर्धान हो गये। इधर सत्यवती और उसकी माताने वृक्षोंक आलिंगन और चरु-भक्षणमें उलट-फेर कर दिया
prāśitavyaṃ prayatnena cety uktvā adarśanaṃ gataḥ | āliḍne carau caiva cakratus te viparyayam ||
阿克利塔伐罗那说道:“你们务必谨慎用心地食用。”言毕,圣者便从众人眼前隐没。然而两位女子却将既定的仪轨次序颠倒——把拥抱树木与食用祭粥(caru)相互混淆——于是使仪式的果报反转,结果与本意背道而驰。
अकृतव्रण उवाच
Even a well-intended dharmic act can yield harmful or opposite results if performed carelessly or with confusion; diligence and correct procedure matter, especially in vows and rites that shape future outcomes.
After instructing that the caru must be eaten carefully, the sage vanishes. The two women then mistakenly swap or invert the prescribed actions—embracing the tree and consuming the caru—causing the intended effect of the rite to be reversed.
