प्राशितव्यं प्रयत्नेन चेत्युक्त्वादर्शनं गत: । आलिड्ने चरौ चैव चक्रतुस्ते विपर्ययम्,तुम दोनों प्रयत्नपूर्वक अपने-अपने चरुका भक्षण करना; ऐसा कहकर भृगुजी अन्तर्धान हो गये। इधर सत्यवती और उसकी माताने वृक्षोंक आलिंगन और चरु-भक्षणमें उलट-फेर कर दिया
prāśitavyaṃ prayatnena cety uktvā adarśanaṃ gataḥ | āliḍne carau caiva cakratus te viparyayam ||
阿克利塔伐罗那说道：“你们务必谨慎用心地食用。”言毕，圣者便从众人眼前隐没。然而两位女子却将既定的仪轨次序颠倒——把拥抱树木与食用祭粥（caru）相互混淆——于是使仪式的果报反转，结果与本意背道而驰。
