वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how a righteous and consequential figure’s actions are not merely private but publicly significant. The ceremonial instruments mark Kṛṣṇa’s movement as politically and ethically weighty, reminding the listener that decisions around peace and war unfold under the gaze of society and dharma.
As Kṛṣṇa enters the Kaurava assembly and then departs, attendants sound kettle-drums, conches, and other instruments together. It is a formal, courtly announcement of his presence and exit, setting a tense, momentous atmosphere before the coming confrontation.
