Vidura’s Counsel to Krishna on the Limits of Peace
दुर्योधनसमीपे तानासनस्थान् ददर्श सः । दुर्योधनके पास ही दुःशासन, कर्ण तथा सुबलपुत्र शकुनि--ये भी आसनोंपर बैठे थे। श्रीकृष्णने उनको भी देखा
duryodhanasamīpe tān āsanasthān dadarśa saḥ |
毗湿摩波耶那说:在杜尤陀那近旁,他看见他们各就其座而坐。杜沙萨那、迦尔纳,以及苏婆罗之子沙昆尼也坐在那里;圣克里希纳同样将他们尽收眼底。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how power is reinforced by a circle of advisers and allies; ethically, it invites reflection on association (saṅga) and responsibility—those who sit with and support an unjust course become participants in its consequences.
In the Kaurava court setting, Kṛṣṇa looks toward Duryodhana and notices key Kaurava supporters—Duḥśāsana, Karṇa, and Śakuni—already seated nearby, indicating a prepared, aligned faction around Duryodhana.
