Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 58 — Saṃjaya’s Audience and Kṛṣṇa’s Deterrent Counsel (संजय-प्रवेशः कृष्णवाक्यं च)

बैठ जानेपर वहाँ मैंने पादपीठसे हटाये हुए अर्जुनके दोनों सुन्दर चरणोंको (ध्यानपूर्वक) देखा। उनके तलुओंमें ऊर्ध्वगामिनी रेखाएँ दृष्टिगोचर हो रही थीं और वे दोनों पैर शुभसूचक विविध लक्षणोंसे सम्पन्न थे ।।

sañjaya uvāca | upaviṣṭe tatra mayā pādapīṭhād apasāritau arjunasya ubhau sundarau caraṇau dhyānapūrvakaṁ dṛṣṭau | tayoḥ talayoḥ ūrdhvagāminyo rekhā dṛśyante sma, ubhau ca pādau śubhasūcakair vividhair lakṣaṇaiḥ sampannau || śyāmau bṛhantau taruṇau śālaskandhāv ivodgatau | ekāsanagatau dṛṣṭvā bhayaṁ māṁ mahad āviśat ||

三阇耶说道:他们就座之后,我细细端详阿周那那双秀美的足——已从脚凳上收回。其足底可见向上延伸的纹理,双足又具种种吉相。继而我看见奎师那与阿周那——肤色黝黑,体魄雄阔,年少而峻拔,如娑罗树之高干——同坐一座;一见此景,巨大的恐惧便攫住了我的心。
