Sanatsujāta–Dhṛtarāṣṭra Saṃvāda: Pramāda as Mṛtyu

Chapter 42

अनैभृत्येन चैतस्य दीक्षितव्रतमाचरेत्‌ । नामैतद्‌ धातुनिर्वत्तं सत्यमेव सतां परम्‌,किंतु जबतक संकल्प सिद्ध न हो, तबतक दीक्षित व्रतका आचरण अर्थात्‌ यज्ञादि कर्म करते रहना चाहिये। यह दीक्षित नाम “दक्षि व्रतादेशे” इस धातुसे बना है। सत्पुरुषोंके सत्यस्वरूप परमात्मा ही सबसे बढ़कर हैं

anai-bhṛtyena caitasya dīkṣita-vratam ācaret | nāmaitad dhātu-nirvṛttaṃ satyam eva satāṃ param ||

萨那苏迦多教诲说:在誓愿未得成就之前,应当不以奴性依附他人,而持续奉行受灌顶之戒(dīkṣā)的严整行持——依教修作诸如祭祀(yajña)等规定仪轨,直至所立之愿圆满。他又说:“dīkṣita”一词固然出自某一动词词根;然而超越词源之辨,对贤者而言,至高的实在即是真理本身——以真为体的至上者(梵我、至上神)。
