विदुर उवाच
A householder should protect the moral and social integrity of the home by refusing hospitality to those whose character is marked by idleness, gluttony, social hostility, deceit, cruelty, and lack of propriety; such association undermines dharma and invites harm.
In Udyoga Parva, Vidura delivers counsel on righteous conduct (nīti) amid rising political tension; here he gives a practical rule of household prudence—whom one should not allow to stay in one’s home.
