Ambā’s Vow of Tapas after Paraśurāma’s Assessment (अम्बाया तपोव्रतनिश्चयः)

कृतो यत्नो महादेवस्तपसा55राधितो मया । कन्या भूत्वा पुमान्‌ भावी इति चोक्तोडस्मि शम्भुना

kṛto yatno mahādevas tapasā rādhito mayā | kanyā bhūtvā pumān bhāvī iti cokto 'smi śambhunā ||

毗湿摩说道:“我竭尽全力,以苦行礼敬大天摩诃提婆。商布(湿婆)亲口对我说:‘先会诞生一个女儿,后来她将化为男子。’纵然我一再恳求只赐一子,湿婆仍宣示此乃命运既定之法度,不可更改,并言:‘既已说出之语,必将应验。’”
