भीष्म–रामसंयुगनिवृत्तिः
Bhishma and Rama: Restraint and Withdrawal in the Engagement
यत्कृते दुःखवसतिमिमां प्राप्तास्मि शाश्वतीम् । पतिलोकाद् विहीना च नैव स्त्री न पुमानिह
yatkṛte duḥkhavasatim imāṃ prāptāsmi śāśvatīm | patilokād vihīnā ca naiva strī na pumān iha |
“因他之故，我坠入这似无尽的苦难之所；又与夫之世界隔绝，在此生我既非真女，亦非真男。若不在战场上斩杀恒河之子毗湿摩，我决不止息苦行。噢，苦行深厚的诸位，这便是我心中之誓，我已明白宣告。”
