The verse highlights the human cost of violence: even attendants like the charioteer can be overwhelmed by intense anguish and physical shock. It implicitly underscores the ethical gravity of warfare and the vulnerability of the mind under trauma.
Bhishma narrates that his charioteer, struck by arrows, is overcome by severe distress, falls to the ground, and faints—showing the immediacy and brutality of the conflict being described.
