Shloka 8

अम्बोपाख्याने तापसानां विचारः तथा होत्रवाहनस्य उपदेशः

Ambā among ascetics; Hotravāhana directs her to Paraśurāma

नाहं त्वय्यन्यपूर्वायां भार्यार्थी वरवर्णिनि | कथमस्मद्विधो राजा परपूर्वा प्रवेशयेत्‌

nāhaṁ tvayy anyapūrvāyāṁ bhāryārthī varavarṇini | katham asmadvidho rājā parapūrvāṁ praveśayet ||

“肤色明丽的女子啊,我不愿娶一个先前属于他人的女人为妻。像我这样的国王——明辨事理,又以达摩训诫他人——怎能把一个已被他人先行占有其权利的女子迎入家门?贤淑的女子,你愿往何处便往何处去;莫让你在此的时日徒然虚耗。”
