Adhyāya 160: Arjuna’s Envoy-Message—Critique of Borrowed Valor and Pre-dawn Mobilization

एवं कत्थसि कौन्तेय अकत्थन्‌ पुरुषो भव | 'युद्धक्षेत्रमें भीष्मका सामना किये बिना ही तुम क्‍यों अपनी झूठी प्रशंसा करते हो? कुन्तीनन्दन! जैसे कोई अशक्त एवं मन्दबुद्धि पुरुष गन्धमादन पर्वतपर चढ़नेकी इच्छा करे

evaṁ katthasi kaunteya akatthan puruṣo bhava |

乌卢迦嘲弄昆蒂之子道:“你为何如此自夸?莫做只会夸口的男子——要以行证勇。若真自称英雄,便在战场上直面毗湿摩,而非躲在安稳处自我称颂。”此言意在激起羞愤,使对手怒而轻进,背离审慎之法(dharma)。
