vaiśampāyana uvāca | duryodhana yad āha tvāṃ pitā bharatasattama | bhīṣmo droṇaḥ kṛpaḥ kṣattā suhṛdāṃ kuru tad vacaḥ ||
毗湿摩波耶那说道:“杜尤陀那啊,婆罗多族之俊杰,遵从那些真心为你着想的长者之言吧——你的父王、祖父毗湿摩、德罗那、克利波与毗度罗。接纳这些友人的劝诫,因为他们所言皆为你的利益。”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler should heed the counsel of trustworthy elders and well-wishers; rejecting such guidance out of pride or obstinacy leads to adharma and ruin.
In the pre-war deliberations of the Udyoga Parva, Vaiśampāyana highlights that Duryodhana is being urged to accept the advice of his father and senior authorities—Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Kṛpa, and Vidura—who speak for his welfare and for the stability of the Kuru realm.
