Haryaśva’s Agreement with Gālava and the Birth of Vasumanā
Nārada’s narration
tasmāc caturṇāṁ vaṁśānāṁ sthāpayitrī sutā mama | iyaṁ surasutaprakhyā sarvadharmopacāyinī ||
The verse links dynastic continuity with dharma: an ideal figure is praised not merely for beauty or status, but for being a cause of social stability—establishing lineages and promoting the increase of righteous conduct and ordered life.
Nārada, speaking in the Udyoga Parva context, introduces or praises his daughter, declaring her exceptional—celestial in radiance—and prophesying her role as a founding mother who will establish four dynastic lines and thereby contribute to the flourishing of dharma.
