Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 5 — Karmaphala-Nirdeśa and Phalāśruti (कर्मफलनिर्देशः फलश्रुतिश्च)
य इमां संहितां पुण्यां पुत्रमध्यापयच्छुकम् । मातापितृसहस्राणि पुत्रदारशतानि च । संसारेष्वनुभूतानि यान्ति यास्यन्ति चापरे
ya imāṃ saṃhitāṃ puṇyāṃ putram adhyāpayac chukam | mātāpitṛsahasrāṇi putradāraśatāni ca | saṃsāreṣv anubhūtāni yānti yāsyanti cāpare ||
毗舍波耶那说：“那位揭示此神圣汇编并将之传授给其子舒迦的世尊毗耶娑——（他由此阐明《摩诃婆罗多》的要义）：在轮回世间，人们已经经历、正在经历、也将继续经历与成千上万的父母、以及数百的妻子与儿女的相聚与离别。此等系缚在生死轮回中反复结成，又反复断裂。”
