Chapter 72 — Royal Duty: protection of subjects, taxation, punishment, and appointments
मा सम लुब्धांश्व मूर्खाश्व॒ कामार्थे च प्रयूयुज: । अलुब्धान् बुद्धिसम्पन्नान् सर्वकर्मसु योजयेत्,तुम लोभी और मूर्ख मनुष्योंको काम और अर्थके साधनमें न लगाओ। जो लोभरहित और बुद्धिमान हों, उन्हींको समस्त कार्योमें नियुक्त करना चाहिये
mā sama lubdhāṁś ca mūḍhāṁś ca kāmārthe ca prayuñjyāḥ | alubdhān buddhisampannān sarvakarmasu yojayet ||
毗湿摩说道:“在欲与财之事上,切莫任用贪婪或愚昧之人;当将一切职分交付于无贪且具明智判断者。”
भीष्म उवाच
Do not entrust responsibilities—especially those involving pleasure and wealth—to greedy or foolish people; appoint the ungreedy and intelligent to all duties, since integrity and discernment protect dharma and public welfare.
