कल्प्यां तेन तु ते प्राहुर्वृत्ति धर्मविदो जना: । द्विजातियोंमेंसे जिस किसीकी सेवा करनेके लिये कोई शूद्र आवे, उसीको उसकी जीविकाकी व्यवस्था करनी चाहिये; ऐसा धर्मज्ञ पुरुषोंका कथन है

Transliteration

kalpyāṁ tena tu te prāhur vṛttiṁ dharmavido janāḥ |

Translation

毗湿摩说：通晓法（dharma）之人宣称：凡有人——尤其是首陀罗（Śūdra）——前来服侍二次生者（dvija），就应当为其妥善安排生计。如此，服务便以负责任的供养相报，使社会义务与伦理关怀相契合。
