The verse highlights karmic and ethical causality in ritual contexts: even when an outcome is produced through mantra and ascetic power, forcing generation or manipulating natural order can yield flawed results, warning that means and intention shape the moral quality of consequences.
Bhīṣma recounts an episode in which sages, using mantra, churn a man’s right thigh to bring forth a being; from this churning a misshapen person named Hasvāḍa is produced on earth.
