Paraśurāma’s origins and the depletion/restoration of kṣatriya lineages
एतस्मिन्नेव काले तु तीर्थयात्रापरो नृप: । गाधि: सदार: सम्प्राप्त: सर्चीकस्याश्रमं प्रति,इसी समय तीर्थयात्रा करते हुए राजा गाधि अपनी पत्नीके साथ ऋचीक मुनिके आश्रमपर आये
etasminn eva kāle tu tīrthayātrāparo nṛpaḥ | gādhiḥ sadāraḥ samprāptaḥ sarcīkasya āśramaṃ prati ||
风神伐由说道:“正当其时,伽陀王(Gādhi)怀着朝礼圣渡(tīrtha)之志,与王后一道来到圣者利支迦的隐修院(āśrama)。”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights pilgrimage and approaching sages as dharmic acts: a king’s authority is refined by humility before spiritual knowledge, and merit is sought through right association and sacred travel.
Vāyudeva narrates that King Gādhi, while on a pilgrimage, arrives with his wife at the hermitage of the sage Ṛcīka, setting up the ensuing interaction between royal householders and ascetic wisdom.
