Educational Q&A

A dharmic ruler earns the spontaneous blessings and approval of the learned; auspicious speech (svasti) and acclamation of victory (jaya) signify moral legitimacy and social harmony grounded in righteousness.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Brahmins, pleased with Yudhiṣṭhira, offer benedictions and shout victory, then begin praising him in solemn, swan-like resonant tones—setting the stage for further commendation of his conduct.
