उक्तानुक्ते कृते कार्ये मामामन्त्र्य द्विजर्षभ | मया प्रत्यभ्यनुज्ञातस्ततो यास्यसि सुव्रत
uktānukte kṛte kārye mām āmantrya dvijarṣabha | mayā pratyabhyanujñātas tato yāsyasi suvrata ||
那伽说道:“无论你说与不说,婆罗门中之雄、持最上誓戒者啊:待当办之事既已成就,你当先来告我,向我致意并求我许可。唯得我允准之后,你方可归家。”
नाग उवाच
Even after one’s work is completed, proper conduct requires seeking the concerned authority’s or host’s explicit permission before departing. The verse emphasizes discipline (vrata), humility, and respect for relational obligations as part of dharma.
A Nāga addresses a Brahmin, instructing him that once the intended task has been accomplished, he should formally approach the Nāga and obtain leave; only then should he return home.
