7 अं ड-ऑ का एकोनषष्टर्याधेकत्रिशततमो< ध्याय: नागराजका घर लौटना
Bhīṣma uvāca: atha kāle bahuvidhe pūrṇe prāpto bhujaṅgamaḥ | dattābhyanujñaḥ svaṁ veśma kṛtakarmā vivasvatā ||
毗湿摩曰:当一段漫长岁月、其间多有变故,既已过去,而蛇王之事亦告成就之时,他得毗婆斯梵(Vivasvat,日神)之许可,遂返归其家。此归返非徒行旅之事,乃在正当权威之下所承之责,其伦理性的圆满收束。
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights dharma as disciplined completion of one’s assigned task and returning only after rightful permission—ethical action is shown as duty performed under legitimate authority, not impulsive self-will.
Bhishma narrates to Yudhishthira that after many days and after finishing his work, the serpent-king receives leave from the Sun-god (Vivasvat) and goes back to his own home, setting up the ensuing domestic dialogue on dharma.
