वद सर्व यथादृष्ट॑ प्रवृत्ति च यथाक्रमम् । जनमेजयने पूछा--मुने! वैकारिक पुरुष भगवान् पुरुषोत्तमको कैसे प्राप्त कर सकता है? यह सब आप अपने अनुभवके अनुसार बताइये और उसकी प्रवृत्तिका भी क्रमशः वर्णन कीजिये
vad sarva yathādṛṣṭaṁ pravṛttiṁ ca yathākramam | janamejayena pṛṣṭaḥ—mune! vaikārikaḥ puruṣaḥ bhagavān puruṣottamaṁ kathaṁ prāptuṁ śaknoti? etat sarvaṁ bhavān svānubhava-anusāreṇa vada, tasya pravṛtteś ca kramam api yathāvat varṇaya ||
阇那美阇耶说道：“请将你所见的一切尽数告知，并按其正当次第叙述修行之道。噢仙人！一个受变易与世间改造所制约的人，如何才能证得那蒙福的至上之人——普鲁沙奥多摩（Puruṣottama），诸有之最上者？愿你依自身证悟解释这一切，并逐步陈明达成此果的行为次序。”
