जनमेजय उवाच एवं बहुविध॑ धर्म प्रतिबुद्धैर्निषिवितम् । न कुर्वन्ति कथं विप्रा अन्ये नानाव्रते स्थिता:
Janamejaya uvāca: evaṁ bahuvidhaṁ dharmaṁ pratibuddhair niṣevitam | na kurvanti kathaṁ viprā anye nānāvrate sthitāḥ ||
阇那美阇耶问道：“牟尼啊！此法（dharma）具多种形态与诸多德行，为觉悟明辨之人所奉行。为何其他婆罗门虽各持种种誓戒与修持，却不依此法而行呢？”
