Adhyāya 348: Nāga–Nīgabhāryā Saṃvāda on Anger, Hope, and Ethical Response
yo dviṣyād vibudhaśreṣṭha devaṃ nārāyaṇaṃ harim |
The verse warns that hostility toward the supreme deity (Nārāyaṇa/Hari) is a grave ethical and spiritual fault, portrayed as bringing severe consequences not only to the individual but also to one’s ancestral line.
In Vaiśampāyana’s discourse within Śānti Parva, a doctrinal warning is given: hatred toward Nārāyaṇa (Hari) is condemned, and its consequence is stated in stark terms involving the fate of one’s ancestors.
