The Brahmin’s Vow and the Nāgas’ Hospitality Appeal
yā hi sūryasahasrasya samastasya bhaved jadyutiḥ | sthānasya sā bhavet tasya svayaṃ tena virājatā ||
The verse teaches that the highest splendor is the sanctifying radiance of the Divine presence: a place becomes supremely luminous and venerable not by external light, but because the Lord Himself abides there.
Nārada is describing the extraordinary brilliance of the Lord’s abode or seat, comparing it to the combined radiance of a thousand suns to convey overwhelming, transcendent majesty.
