Atithi-satkāra and the Consolation of Wise Counsel
ṛṣibhir brahmaṇā caiva vibudhaiś ca supūjitaḥ | uvāca devam īśānam īśaḥ sa jagato hariḥ ||
The verse teaches theological non-difference and mutual recognition: knowing and following Rudra is equivalent to knowing and following Hari, emphasizing unity and discouraging sectarian opposition.
In a setting where Rudra is being greatly worshipped by sages, Brahmā, and the gods, Hari addresses Rudra and affirms their essential unity, instructing him not to entertain any contrary notion of difference.
