A sacrifice is not merely a technical ritual; it must be grounded in humility and proper honoring of those worthy of reverence. Excluding or slighting a rightful recipient out of pride corrupts the act and invites ruin rather than merit.
Dakṣa conducts a sacrifice but withholds Rudra’s allotted share. Dadhīci’s words prompt Rudra to intervene, and the sacrifice is seized/overthrown—an episode illustrating the collapse of an unjust or disrespectful ritual order.
