Atithi’s Direction to the Nāga-sage Padma at Naimiṣa (अतिथ्युपदेशः—नैमिषे पद्मनागोपाख्यानप्रस्तावः)
हैरण्यगर्भाच्च वसिष्ठाद्धिरण्यकशिपु: शापं प्राप्तवान् यस्मात् त्वयान्यो वृतो होता तस्मादसमाप्त-यज्ञस्त्वमपूर्वात् सत्त्वजातादू वर्धं प्राप्स्यसीति तच्छापदानाद्धिरण्यकशिपु: प्राप्तवान् वधम्
hairaṇyagarbhācca vasiṣṭāddhiraṇyakaśipuḥ śāpaṃ prāptavān yasmāt tvayānyo vṛto hotā tasmādasamāpta-yajñas tvam apūrvāt sattvajātād ūrdhvaṃ prāpsyasīti tacchāpadānāddhiraṇyakaśipuḥ prāptavān vadham
阿周那说：希兰尼亚迦湿布因轻慢梵天之子瓦西什塔（希兰尼亚伽婆之裔），另择他人为祭祀之热特尔（hotṛ），遂招致瓦西什塔的诅咒。瓦西什塔宣告：“既然你另选热特尔，在此祭祀未竟之前，你必将死于一种前所未有之生灵之手。”凭此咒力，希兰尼亚迦湿布遂走向其注定的被诛之终局。
