paśya devasya māhātmyaṃ mahimānaṃ ca nārada | śubhāśubhaiḥ karmabhiḥ na lipyate kadācana ||
毗湿摩言:“噢,那罗陀啊,观此天神之伟大与威德。业行虽有吉凶,彼终不为之所染。”
भीष्म उवाच
The Supreme Divine remains untouched by the moral coloring of actions—good or bad. This underscores divine transcendence: while beings accrue merit and demerit through karma, the Lord is not bound or stained by karma’s results.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction, Bhīṣma addresses the sage Nārada, drawing attention to the Lord’s incomparable glory and emphasizing that, unlike embodied beings, the Divine is never contaminated by auspicious or inauspicious deeds.
