Systems of Knowledge and Vyāsa’s Nārāyaṇa-Origin

Educational Q&A

The verse asserts Nārāyaṇa’s supremacy: he is eternal (without beginning or end), the unmanifest ground of reality, the creator of the cosmos, and the rightful receiver of both divine and ancestral offerings—so even opposing cosmic factions (devas and dānavas) acknowledge him through worship.

A deva proclaims Nārāyaṇa’s unmatched status and universal worship, framing him as the ultimate object of ritual and devotion and establishing theological authority within the Shānti Parva’s reflective, dharma-oriented discourse.
