भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic discipline of faithfully conveying received instruction: Śuka reports the dialogue in full, suggesting integrity in speech, careful preservation of teaching, and reverence toward one’s father/teacher in the chain of transmission.
After conversing with King Janaka, Śuka returns and narrates the entire exchange to his father (Vyāsa). Bhīṣma recounts this as part of the Shānti Parva’s broader instruction on wisdom, conduct, and liberation-oriented understanding.
