Adhyāya 325: Nārada in Śvetadvīpa—Stotra to the Nirguṇa Mahātman
chāyāyām ātape caiva samadarśī mahādyutiḥ | tāta! tatraika-sthāne upaviśya mahā-tejasvī śukadevaḥ mokṣasyaiva cintanaṃ kartum ārabdhavān | dhūpo vā chāyā vā—ubhayatra tasya samā dṛṣṭiḥ āsīt |
The verse teaches samadarśitā—equanimity toward opposites (heat and shade)—as a mark of spiritual maturity, and it presents single-pointed contemplation of mokṣa as the sage’s highest aim.
Bhīṣma describes Śukadeva seated in one place, absorbed in reflection on liberation; external conditions like sun or shade do not disturb him, showing his steady, impartial mind.
