सम्मानश्चावमानश्ष लाभालाभौ क्षयोदयौ । प्रवृत्ता विनिवर्तन्ते विधानान्ते पदे पदे

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | sammānaś cāvamānaś ca lābhālābhau kṣayodayau | pravṛttā vinivartante vidhānānte pade pade ||

Translation

毗湿摩说道：荣与辱、得与失、衰与兴——皆依既定之法度而起，于每一步间不断显现，此法度由前世之业所塑成。待其应受之果报既已受尽，便又归于寂然。故人不当为此动摇，当安住于达摩而不移。
