ममत्वेनावृतो नित्यं तत्रैव परिवर्तते
mamatvenāvṛto nityaṃ tatraiva parivartate
恒为“我所”之念所覆者,便被系缚于彼境,周而复始地在其中轮转——不能越过执取而入于解脱与正见。
वसिष्ठ उवाच
Possessive identification (‘this is mine’) obscures discernment and keeps one trapped in repetitive cycles of suffering; loosening mamatva is essential for ethical clarity and liberation.
Vasiṣṭha is instructing on the inner cause of bondage: the mind, covered by possessiveness, remains stuck in the same state and continues to revolve there, rather than progressing toward freedom through detachment and insight.
