Saṃhāra-krama (The Sequence of Cosmic Dissolution) — Yājñavalkya’s Discourse
अखण्डमपि वा मांसं सततं मनुजेश्वर । उपोष्य सम्यक् शुद्धात्मा योगी बलमवाप्रुयात्
akhaṇḍam api vā māṁsaṁ satataṁ manu-jeśvara | upoṣya samyak śuddhātmā yogī balam avāpnuyāt ||
毗湿摩说道:“噢,人中之主!即便有人恒常戒肉,并依正法修持斋戒与誓愿,使内心澄净,那位瑜伽行者也确能获得灵性之力。”
भीष्म उवाच
Self-restraint—such as abstaining from meat and observing fasts and vows properly—purifies the inner being; such purification supports the attainment of yogic strength or spiritual potency.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction to the king, Bhīṣma continues his discourse on dharma and disciplined living, explaining how regulated conduct and inner purification can lead to yogic power.
